Who I am
With 20 years of experience as an information technology entrepreneur with a love of nature, I'm passionate about exploring the combination of technology and the natural world and how that combination can have a positive impact on our day-to-day lives.
As a founding partner in two technology companies, I was a key member of the leadership team that helped launch, grow and sell Plato Consulting to KPMG (2011) and Camouflage Software Inc. to Imperva (2016). I'm currently working on startup number three (alooki) that is focused on improving residential recycling rates through the smart use of technology.
As a senior technology leader, I help customers leverage technology to solve challenging problems and align business goals with market needs. Having held numerous roles throughout my career from developer/architect through to product management and CTO, I'm well versed in the technology fundamentals required to launch and grow successful technology businesses.
My "Why"
Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated with technology and for as long as I can remember, I've had a burning need to know how things work. Combine that with a love of the great outdoors and that pretty much sums up the core passions behind this blog. My goal is to share my experiences with Tech + Nature + Maker in plain English so that you can apply what I learn to your own projects, ideas, hobbies etc.
